Venus (Courtesy Post) Domestic Shorthair Young Female in San Jose, California

My story
Venus was rescued with her brother when she was about four months old. She was born outside in a homeless encampment so Venus and her brother were shy and scared at first, but she's become a very affectionate, sweet girl that loves to be pet and play. She gets along with other cats but would also do fine as an only cat. Venus will roll over and let her foster mom rub her stomach and is a lap cat. Due to her start in life though, she can be shy with new people and get scared in new situations and places. She would do best in a mellow home with someone that has some experience with cats, especially a shy one since she'll require some patience and understanding while she adjusts to a new home.

When Venus returned from the shelter where she was spayed, she started squinting her left eye. After trying eye medications that didn't help, her foster discovered that she had a healed-over cut on the skin at the corner of her eye that went up her temple. The veterinarian said that it healed a bit unevenly so that she will squint a bit. It does sometimes get runny; the vet said to use eye drops when that happens. Other than this, Venus is a healthy girl and has been vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. She'll make a great friend for someone.

Venus is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, email us at courtesy@thedancingcat.org.
